Safety Statement
Under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005, all Employers have a specific duty to prepare a Safety Statement for their business. This is the employers programme, in writing, detailing how safety, health and welfare is secured and managed for all those affected by their course of business. O'Dwyer Property Management will facilitate their clients in compiling this statement.
Risk Assessments
All employers are required by law to carry out a risk assessment of the work environment. Carrying out a risk assessment means you must carefully assess what in your workplace could cause harm to your employees and other people who may have a reason to be at your workplace including customers, suppliers, sales representatives, etc.
Manual Handling
Manual Handling training for staff that carry out manual tasks and those working in the office environment is a fundamental requirement and O'Dwyer Property Management have therefore invested in having 2 of our staff members trained to deliver these courses.
Ergonomics
Ergonomics (or human factors) is the application of scientific information concerning humans to the design of objects, systems and environment for human use. Ergonomics is commonly thought of as how companies design tasks and work areas to maximise the efficiency and quality of their employees’ work.
VDU Assessments
An assessment of the work environment or work station will establish whether adjustments need to be made for the users as well as training and further advice. The workstation assessment will look at all areas of the workstation including the desk, chair, PC and accessories, printers and other equipment relevant to the workstation as well as work space, lighting, heating and ventilation etc. O'Dwyer Property Management can assist in both the assessment and training of staff in their work places.
